In SharePoint 2013 we have lots of opportunity to develop the SharePoint 2013 apps using JavaScript, is there a support for developing the apps for SharePoint 2013 apps using TypeScript. In SharePoint 2013 we have bunch of JS files available to be used in the client JS applications as a reference and use the functions defined in it. Is there a way to refer an external .JS file and use the functions defined in it in the .TS file?

Thanks,

TypeScript works where Javascript works, so you can use TS to develop SharePoint apps. What you will need is external lib typings (.d.ts files) if you wish to use external libs and get types. Please check out our JQuery/D3 and Node samples to learn more about how to work with external libs.

Just an FYI - something I experienced with typescript and vs 2012 sharepoint 2013 app projects:

I just logged it today.

You will likely get a quicker response to issues if you log them directly here on Codeplex (you can even just click the 'Copy to work item' link in your post). We triage the items in the issue tracker here almost every day.

Done, although I don't see "copy to workitem." This is only for developer members ;)
